She prepares singers for The Voice and American Idol, where her students have moved on to the final audition rounds. Noel's students are attending: U of Michigan, NYU/Tisch, NYU/Steinhart, Juilliard, Syracuse, Ithaca, Boston Conservatory, Emerson, Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, Berklee, AMDA, U of Arts, Pace, Elon, etc. Noel is a presenter on vocal health and healthy belting for the young singer, and was a featured presenter for the NATS National Convention in Las Vegas and The Voice Foundation. She retrains injured singers and supports them in their careers. Noel is a guest artist at New England Conservatory’s Prep Program and The Walnut Hill School.Īs a vocal habilitator she collaborates with Brigham and Women's Voice and Speech Lab, Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and Cornell University Hospital in NY. She works with professional singer/actors, child singer/actors, and prepares high school students for entry into the top undergraduate and graduate musical theater and pop programs across the country. Lab Choir III (Advanced): Continuing focus on ensemble skills and strategies drawn from challenging classical repertoire of all eras, folk arrangements and pop standards, with special focus on rhythmically demanding materials.Noel Smith is a highly skilled singer, voice teacher, producer, pianist, and coach. Special focus on rhythmically challenging materials. Lab Choir II: Focus on ensemble skills and strategies for experienced readers, drawing from classical part-music, folk arrangements, and pop standards. Lab Choir I: Strengthen pitch-reading fluency and confidence applying practical, streamlined, and era-sensitive techniques to the study and performance of a wide range of part-music and solo repertoire. Intermediate II: Intervals in the context of key, with emphasis on the mastery of tonal conventions and chromaticism. Intermediate I: Major and minor scales, intervals, simple modulations and functional chromaticism singing rounds and part-songs. Class Level OVERVIEWīeginner: Intro to pitch and rhythm reading, ear-training and theory. All classes are taught by Liz Fleischer, hailed by New York Magazine as "one of New York's great teachers" and The New York Times as "a teacher who gets results."
